This one is a long time favorite comfort dish!
Delicious crispy crusted tenderized pork cutlets, seasoned lightly and fried to a light to medium golden brown, served with a down home creamy gravy is just the combination for a true “like Mama made” meal that is sure to please.
What you will need:
- 6-8 tenderized pork cutlets
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbs Old Bay seasoning
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup canola oil
Season each side of the pork cutlets with a pinch of each spice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Old Bay and set aside. In a small bowl, whip eggs with a splash of the milk and set the rest of the milk aside for gravy. Add one tsp each of salt, pepper and garlic powder, along with one tbs of Old Bay. In another larger bowl, mix 1/12 cups flour and the remainder of spices. Dip each cutlet into egg mixture and roll evenly in the flour. Place in a medium frying pan that is preheated on medium heat and fry until golden brown. (Cook time 5-6 minutes per side depending on the thickness of the cutlet)
In the same frying pan, keep only 1/2 the grease from the pork, and add 1/2 cup flour and stir until browned. Once brown, add 1/2 cup milk and stir continuously until gravy thickens. (Add more milk or flour for desired consistency. Salt and pepper to taste.
Serve over pork cutlets and enjoy!
